Andrew and his family have lived in the Grade II listed house designed by renowned architect Edgar Wood for the last two years
There are certain properties that stand out amongst others because of their kerb appeal. One town in Rochdale is known for its selection of eye-catching houses and buildings, all designed by the same architect, but which are each unique in their own right.
“After Covid we just wanted to move somewhere bigger. We were living in a mid mews house which was lovely but it was just very small," Andrew told the Manchester Evening News. "We didn’t know whether we’d be able to afford it, but when we looked into it, it turned out that we could so we ended up buying it," said Andrew.Sign up to our free weekly property newsletter by clicking here
Since moving into their new home in June 2021, the couple haven't done much renovating to it because of its listed status. "Throughout the house all the doors are very wide and big. When you come in through the front door, the entrance hall is huge. Straight away the first time we walked in we said 'this is about the size of our old living room'.
"On the other side of the kitchen there is the lounge which has a huge bay window at the back which makes it look like a conservatory. There’s a fireplace and a piano in there. "Next to that is the middle double bedroom with one of the original fireplaces in and it has a curved arched ceiling because of the triangular roof above it. There’s another bedroom at the far end that also has a fireplace and two windows.
