In December of 2022, Rodriguez and his wife received a call that would change their lives forever.
William Rodriguez of Rutherford County can’t help but get emotional talking about his two former foster boys.
“We went through a period of time when we couldn’t have kids so we prayed and prayed for all the babies and we got all the babies,” said Rodriguez. “It seemed like you loved them and treated them like your own, right?” asked FOX 17 News reporter Amanda Chin. “We did everything we could to guide the parents. We prayed for them, we’d have visitations, we’d meet them, we’d give them advice,” says Rodriguez.
The Rodriguez family ended up filing a petition for adoption and termination of parental rights in White County. The family couldn't imagine life without the boys. Rodriguez also feels DCS violated The Foster Parent Bill of Rights which states “The department shall provide timely, written notification of changes in the case plan or termination of the placement and the reasons for the changes or termination of placement to the foster parent or parents.”
