Oscar Piastri's maiden Formula 1 grand prix victory appears to have been accomplished with the Australian racer nursing a fractured rib.
There are 10 race weekends left in the 2024 season, starting with the Dutch Grand Prix from August 23-25.
One man whose body appears to be enjoying the time off is Piastri's, with the Australian posting an image on social media of an X-ray showing he had suffered a fracture in his left rib. "First part of the season done. First GP victory. First broken bone. Rib's enjoying the break," Piastri posted on X .Piastri has raced to fourth in the drivers' championship off the back of recent performances, just 10 points behind Ferrari's Charles Leclerc in third and 32 points teammate Lando Norris.McLaren is also well and truly in the fight for the constructors' championship. It is also second behind Red Bull, 42 points adrift.
