Fort Worth police say the ornament created by a local artist has been returned to the Sundance Square Christmas tree. A stolen ornament taken from the Sundance Square Christmas tree was returned early Wednesday morning, according to the Fort Worth Police Department.
Early Wednesday, around 2:30 a.m., an anonymous person on a motorcycle drove up on the sidewalk around Sundance Square Plaza and handed the ornament off to a passerby, according to a Sundance Square spokesperson.The ornament created by Arely Morales was a sentimental piece for the artist. Morales had painted the ornament in memory of her beloved cat.A woman was seen on camera jumping out of a dark gray SUV and stealing Morales' ornament from the tree and taking off with it."Feeling so happy we’ll get a chance to see it again. Thanks to everyone in the community for all the love and support you've given us, and for helping us get to this point. And to the person who took it, thanks for bringing it back! I can imagine it wasn't an easy decision, but I sincerely appreciate it," Morales said after the ornament's safe return.
