The diminutive central midfielder lost his place to Makhehlene Makhaula who recently confirmed signing a new one-year deal with Pirates. And lastly, the writing was always on the wall for Mpontshane who last featured for Pirates in that 1-0 loss to Kaizer Chiefs on 29 October 2022.
