It's official. Oregon and Washington will be Big Ten schools in 2024.
A little over 13 months after striking a deal with USC and UCLA to join the conference, the Big Ten is adding two more West Coast schools as Oregon and Washington are officially leaving the Pac-12 to join the Big Ten, becoming the 17th and 18th members of the league.on Friday evening. The two schools will join the conference on Aug. 2, 2024.
The Big Ten will remain at 14 teams for the 2023-24 academic year before USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington all join the conference ahead of the 2024-25 season. Washington and Oregon are not expected to receive a full share of the Big Ten’s revenue distribution when they join the conference, but the partial shares they will receive were ultimately enough for both schools to determine they would be better off changing conferences than staying put.
