The Carousel of Hope Ball is going virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic but the celebration is not losing any star power.— will raise funds for clinical care and diabetes research at the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes while also toasting two milestones including event chair and host Barbara Davis’ 90th birthday and the 40th anniversary of the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes.
Joining the festivities will be Burt Bacharach, Carole Bayer Sager, Tony Bennett, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Caine, George Clooney, Joan Collins, David Copperfield, Clive Davis, Robert De Niro, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, John Elway, Cynthia Erivo, Jane Fonda, David Foster, Kenny G., David Geffen, Josh Groban, Tom Hanks, Jennifer Hudson, Samuel L. Jackson, Quincy Jones, Gladys Knight, Adam Lambert, Jay Leno, Rob Lowe, Nigel Lythgoe, Barry Manilow, Lionel Richie, Judge Judy Sheindlin, Maria Shriver, Sam Smith, Rod Stewart, Pia Toscana, Usher, Diane Warren, Dionne Warwick, Oprah Winfrey, Henry Winkler, and others. Said Davis: “We are looking forward to hosting another sensational event, and bringing together our Carousel of Hope family to raise awareness and funds to fight his life-altering disease. We could not be more proud to commemorate 40 years of the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes, and the revolutionary work being done to care for those in need.” As previously announced, Jay Leno is on board to serve as master of ceremonies, Foster as music director, George Schlatter as honorary producer, and Davis and Jones as music chairmen. The event will be produced and directed by Erich Bergen and Marc Johnston. The 2020 Carousel of Hope Ball is sponsored by Dexcom, Marlyn and Robert Day, and the Beverly Hilton.
