Christopher Nolan's blockbuster biopic Oppenheimer is returning to IMAX theaters once again for one week, including six 70mm presentations.

The latest film from the visionary director Christoper Nolan follows the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer , the theoretical physicist who spearheaded development of the atomic bomb during World War II and suffered a great personal and political fallout.
Now, Oppenheimer is returning to IMAX theaters once again for a one-week encore presentation starting on November 3. According to Variety, It will screen in 70mm IMAX six locations – the AMC CityWalk Stadium 19 in Hollywood, AMC Irvine Spectrum in Irvine, AMC Lincoln Square in New York City, AMC Metreon 16 in San Francisco, BFI London in the UK, and Melbourne Museum in Australia.
Will Oppenheimer Cross $1 Billion At The Box Office? The announcement that Oppenheimer is returning to IMAX comes more than three months after its initial release. As expected, its box office gross has plateaued at $946 million at the time of writing. Thus, this upcoming IMAX re-release could give Oppenheimer the push it needs to pass the $1 billion mark. This feat has only been achieved by one other R-rated movie in history, Joker, and two movies this year, The Super Mario Bros.

To reach this milestone, the movie will need to make $54 million in one week, which it hasn't done since its $82 million opening weekend before dropping to $46 million in its second weekend. Recapturing this kind of widespread interest three months after its release will be difficult for Oppenheimer, however, there aren't any other major releases for it to compete with on November 3.
