Opinion: San Diego County banning investment in energy companies is not the right strategy [Opinion]
” : The county Board of Supervisors made a most inane proclamation when it decided that the county would not invest in fossil fuel companies.
Has any one of the supervisors read one of these companies’ annual reports? All are investing in alternative energies. We are going to use as much fossil fuel as it takes to keep our houses, factories and cars running until alternative energy and its support systems come online. The oil companies realize this. Banning investment in these companies won’t contribute 1 ounce of prevention to global warming. It’s just a hollow broadcast.
