Let’s call it grandstanding. Governors DeSantis and Greg Abbott decided to spearhead a ludicrous initiative to remove immigrants from Florida and Texas. Like the previous president they expedited actions to circumvent federal laws and policies that suit just them.
These governors represent a surreptitious undermining of the Department of Homeland Security. The President cannot improve immigration without Congressional approval. President G.W. Bush tried but his party failed him. Congress has been deadlocked ever since. One real hypocrisy of the Republican Party is denying the needs of one solid block of the party: farmers. They
