Opinion: Remembering beloved and respected community leader and Chicano activist Daniel Hernandez [Opinion]
He served on numerous boards, where he made significant contributions. He was not one to toot his own horn, because for him, the end result was enough credit. He was a masterful communicator and a lover of leadership development. At MANA de San Diego, which empowers Latinas, he helped us to increase membership, create awareness of our programs and connect us to funders. Danny was one of the good guys, the kind of man every boy should model.
Danny was loved by many, especially his family and his “comadres.” A celebration of life is being planned with more details to come. To honor our beloved “hermano,” MANA de San Diego has established the Danny Hernandez Leadership Scholarship. Donors can contribute by visiting
