Opinion: Looking forward to seeing San Diego street vendor rules enforced [Opinion]

The other day, our painting group met in Balboa Park. When we arrived at the Prado pedestrian plaza, we were appalled by the multitude of swap meet-like vendors. Their tacky awnings obscured the beautiful architecture we had gone there to paint. In order to accommodate the number of vendors, the umbrella tables/chairs that used to be in the center of the plaza to allow contemplation of our beautiful park have been removed, except for a few in front of SDMA.

The sheer number of vendors/tents/tables/carts has reduced our jewel of a park into a common swap meet atmosphere, taking away from the beautiful natural scenery and architecture. Give us back our park!
