Mexico scraps daylight savings time except along borderCalifornians could save millions of power usage dollars and reduce the peak-hour strain on California’s power grid by dropping daylight saving time. If year-round standard time were adopted Californians could shut off their air conditioners one hour earlier during summer months.

Also, parents would not have to get their kids ready for school in the dark. Like Mexico, other states have already adopted year-round standard time. California should do the same.
