Opinion: After 25 years as a San Diego DJ, I am grateful for every amazing music-filled moment [Opinion]

We still have drawers full of those in our music library, as well as floor-to-ceiling shelves full of vinyl. Stepping into that room fills me with reverence, it really does. There’s so much history and magic in it. We still play some vinyl and CDs, but most of our music now has been digitized.

While our transmitter remains in Tijuana, the 91X on-air studio moved to San Diego permanently around 1991. I loved that old building on Pac Highway. One afternoon, Stone Temple Pilots showed up and played an acoustic set for us in our conference room. And one night, a bunch of us stayed late and watched a bootlegged video of “The Blair Witch Project” together on the big screen in that same conference room.
