OnX Offroad has just debuted its new turn-by-turn navigation system for off-roaders. It's built into the company's existing app and works with Apple Carply & Android Auto.

In the world of off-roading and overlanding, a trustworthy third-party navigation system is crucial to a safe, successful journey. The team at OnX Offroad has long provided one of the best services on the market, one that we at Road Track have used often — and it's getting a whole lot better now that the brand is rolling out the new OnX Navigation feature, which brings Google Maps-style turn-by-turn directions to both roads and trails across the United States.

Once you're on a trail, the system continues to navigate you with precise directions along the trail, and can even reroute you mid-journey if you take a detour. iOS users also benefit from an offline mode, in which users can download sections of map data for use when cell services fades away. “This is the kind of feature that gets you pumped to hit the trail,” said OnX general manager Rory Edwards.
