ONLY ON 8: Action 8 Political Analyst Steve Flowers has expert insight into the prospects of the gambling and school choice bills up for debate in the Alabama Legislature.
The gambling bills have passed the House and are now in the Senate. If they win a 3/5ths majority vote, they will be on the November ballot for Alabama voters to have the final say. The bills would set up a state lottery, allow sports betting, both in-person and online, and allow up to 10 casinos. The school choice proposal would set up accounts for parents to use their tax dollars where best they see fit, even for private or church schools and homeschool.
