BANGKOK (The Nation Thailand/ANN): There were five new cases of Covid-19 (coroanvius) in Thailand over a 24-hour period, the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration said on Saturday (June 3).

All five new cases are returnees from Saudi Arabia who are in state quarantine.The total number of confirmed cases since the Covid-19 outbreak rose to 3,134 of whom 2,987 have recovered.The number of fatalities remains at 58.

Taweesin Visanuyothin, the spokesman of the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration , announced on Friday that educational institutes would be allowed to reopen on June 15, and alcohol could be served in restaurants and hotels – but not in pubs, bars or entertainment venues. Other educational institutes, including universities, can begin seminars and workshops.Meanwhile, gatherings for ceremonies, meetings, exhibitions, concerts, performances and events are permitted under the following conditions:Meetings and seminars must provide a space of 4 metres square per participant.Spectators at events, exhibitions, contests, or sports competition must sit or stand at least one metre apart.

Film or TV shoots will be allowed a maximum 150 crew members while studio audiences are capped at 50.
