A road in Gedling, considered to be on one of the steepest hills in Nottinghamshire, has been closed amid icy conditions and freezing temperatures. Freda Avenue has been entirely blocked off from its junctions with West Dale End and Shelford Road.
People took to social media on Wednesday morning to say the road had been closed due to the 'icy conditions'. Photos from earlier in the day had shown the road well iced over. One person wrote: "Why would you even try to get up or down it in this weather." It follows a bitter cold snap across the county, and an extremely cold night. It comes as temperatures across the county are set to dip below freezing into the early Wednesday evening.
