The presidential race is getting packed and it's only May 2023.
Christie’s entry into the race marks his second presidential campaign. In 2016, he initially ran against Trump but dropped out and later endorsed him.
Despite facing a brutal firing as Trump’s transition coordinator, Christie remained loyal until the Capitol attack, which prompted him to break away. During town hall meetings in New Hampshire, Christie dedicated his opening remarks to excoriating Trump, stating that putting him back in the White House would only lead to worse outcomes than before.
Christie joins a competitive field of candidates, including Trump, Senator Tim Scott, Governor Ron DeSantis, former Governor Nikki Haley, former Governor Asa Hutchinson, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. Former Vice President Mike Pence is also expected to announce his potential bid soon. It’s going to be a long road to the 2024 elections, y’all.
