It's something you can always do at Ten Thousand Villages. The nonprofit retail chain says now is more important than ever.
The stores buy one-of-a-kind items like clothing, jewelry, art and more from artists in more than 30 developing countries. But in the last few years, those countries have been struggling.“Our artisan partners have had a lot of challenges between COVID and inflation and the continuing war in Ukraine. They don't have a lot of work. A lot of the European buyers aren't buying,” said Ten Thousand Villages, Mary Lampmann.
Ten Thousand Villages hopes you will buy, and it's giving you an extra incentive. Many of its items will be 75 percent off this weekend. The sale continued until 7 p.m. Friday night at its headquarters on Main Street in Akron, Lancaster County.
