One man injured in Balcones Heights apartment fire Sunday morning
SAN ANTONIO — The Balcones Heights Fire Department responded to a large fire in an apartment complex in Balcones Heights Sunday morning. One male was found to have sustained severe lacerations to the arm and was taken by Emergency Medical Services to University Hospital.
Upon arriving at 3:45 a.m., Balcones Heights firefighters could see flames coming out of a downstairs apartment window. Leon Valley and Castle Hills fire departments also arrived at the scene, Terrace Apartments, 801 Gentleman Road, to help Balcones Heights put out the fire. “Crews responded and did an excellent job in containing and extiguishing fire. A big thank you to Leon Valley and Castle Hills Fire Department for the mutual aid assistance. Great job, guys,” wrote the Balcones Heights Fire Department in aThe post displayed images of the devastation sustained to the main apartment. Several other units were affected, though their level of damage was unknown Sunday.
Neighbors on the scene this morning said they heard an argument take place before the fire started, and that they saw a victim being thrown out the window; however, it is unknown how the fire started or if others were injured by the flames.
