British playwright-poet Richard Marsh brings a unique twist to the classic action film 'Die Hard' with his rhyming one-man show, 'Yippee Ki Yay: The Parody Celebration of Die Hard.'
British playwright-poet Richard Marsh has created a rhyming one-man show that re-creates the 1988 Bruce Willis film 'Die Hard.' 'Yippee Ki Yay: The Parody Celebration of Die Hard' is also a rom-com that tells the story of a fan of the iconic action flick. It has a four-day holiday run in Dallas as part of its second U.S. tour. The show has repeatedly toured the U.K.
and is coming to Dallas for a four-day holiday run, presented by the AT&T Performing Arts Center, as part of the show’s second trip to the States. Marsh, who first saw 'Die Hard' on VHS as a teenager, says, “Obviously at that stage, I had no idea what a big role it would play in my life when I was older.” He’s currently performing the show in San Antonio following a monthlong run in Chicago. British actor Darrel Bailey will perform Richard Marsh's one-man show 'Yippee Ki Yay: The Parody Celebration of Die Hard' when it stops in Dallas. Marsh spent his 20s as a struggling playwright before fully turning to his gift for poetry. There was a time you could commission him to write one. Now he’s working on a children’s book series and a musical adaptation of a hit Broadway musical about a teen who goes viral through a lie. Marsh says he started writing poetry in 2009 or 2010. “It worked out very well for me. I met a lot of good friends and became the London poetry slam champion. From the beginning, I was interested in telling stories that don’t necessarily seem like poetry is the form you would tell them in. My friend Katie Bonna and I did a play back in 2012 called, which was a rom-com told in poetry from both his and her points of view
