A 71-year-old man's pickup truck was pushed into a concrete wall following the crash, according to State Police.

A 71-year-old Hunterdon County man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning on Interstate 80 in Bergen County, authorities said. Michael Ruscher was seated in his pickup truck on the right shoulder shortly after 9 a.m. in the eastbound local lanes near milepost 64.1 in Lodi when his vehicle was struck by a passing car, according toThe impact of the crash pushed Ruscher’s pickup off the side of the road and into a concrete wall. A State Police spokesman said investigators are unsure why the pickup truck was stopped on the shoulder.
Ruscher, of Ringoes, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, a 21-year-old Passaic man, suffered moderate injuries. The right lane of the I-80 eastbound local lanes and the entrance ramp from Riverview Avenue were closed for more than four hours. The crash remains under investigation.
