40 San Francisco Fire Department units responded to the scene to aid the firefighting efforts, the SFFD reported.
San Francisco Fire Department units were called about 7:15 a.m. to 222 Byxbee St., near Brooks Park in the Ingleside area, on reports of a structure fire and found a two-story home burning at the address, said the department's Capt. Jonathan Baxter.

— SAN FRANCISCO FIRE DEPARTMENT MEDIA April 29, 2023 Fire crews managed to gain control of the blaze by about 7:38 a.m., the fire department reported. However, the victim who was rescued from the home died of their injuries."Our hearts and prayers go out to our lost community members, neighbors and friends," Baxter said.
