Police say they’ve shot dead one suspect and arrested 17 others following the hijacking of a truck carrying liquor worth R1.7-million in Gqaberha in the Eastern Cape yesterday.

They used tracker dogs to find some of the suspects who had fled to a nearby bush.

Provincial police commissioner Nomthetheleli Menehas commended the officers for making the arrests.
