Two Golden Arrow buses were stoned, leaving one person injured, during service delivery protests on the N2 in Cape Town early on Thursday morning.
Golden Arrow Bus Services spokesperson Bronwen Dyke-Beyer said their buses had been disrupted and delayed as a result of the protest action.
Khayelitsha Development Forum chairperson Ndithini Leon Tyhido said residents of the Taiwan informal settlement had taken to the streets to demand development and services in the area. City of Cape Town traffic services spokesperson Kevin Jacobs said they were attending to the effects of the protest, which had led to various road closures at the N2 inbound at Spine Road and the N2 outbound on the R300. The roads have since been reopened.
