After 36 hours of searching, the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office recovered the body of the missing ice climber who fell off a frozen waterfall Sunday night.
Search and rescue crews were in Indian Canyon, 13 miles outside Duchesne, until the scene was cleared around 5 p.m. Monday evening.
One of the climbers was able to make it down uninjured and drive outside the canyon to find service and call 911.Meg O’Neill from Salt Lake City passed away, and her body was recovered Monday evening. “Meg has this impressive outdoor resume. A very prolific climber in the Wasatch, and a very committed outdoors person,” she said.
