One Dead, Two Hospitalized After Shooting in Gary Home

A fatal shooting occurred in a Gary residence, resulting in the death of 26-year-old Darian Hilson. Two other individuals, a woman from East Chicago and a man from Chicago, sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to Methodist Northlake Hospital. A fatal shooting inside a Gary home left one man dead and sent two others to the hospital late Tuesday night. Gary police responded to reports of gunfire around 10:28 p.m. at a residence in the 2100 block of Delaware Street. Inside the home, officers discovered 26-year-old Darian Hilson, of Gary , unresponsive in the kitchen. Despite efforts by first responders, Hilson was pronounced dead at the scene. The Lake County coroner ruled his death a homicide.

Officers also found a 22-year-old woman from East Chicago with a gunshot wound. She was taken to Methodist Northlake Hospital for treatment. A third victim, a 31-year-old man from Chicago, sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported to Methodist Northlake Hospital by a private vehicle. Police have not released any details about a suspect or potential motive for the shooting. The conditions of the surviving victims have not been disclosed. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective D. Moran at 219-755-3855
