Police, emergency services and the rail industry are working together 'to understand the circumstances leading up to this collision'October 21, 2024 11:13 pmA man has died and 15 people have been taken to hospital following a collision between two trains near Llanbrynmair in Powys, Wales, British Transport Police have said.
He said the force were working hand in hand with emergency services and the rail industry “to understand the circumstances leading up to this collision”. In a joint statement, Network Rail and Transport for Wales said: “Our first thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the man who has lost his life, as well as all the other people involved in this incident.”
They added the Cambrian railway west of Machynlleth will remain closed while specialist teams investigate the collision.
