A judge has blocked Texas from releasing A-F grades for schools in response to a lawsuit challenging the fairness of the STAAR exam.
A judge has blocked the Texas Education Agency ’s planned release of statewide A-F accountability ratings for schools and school systems. The order by state District Judge Karin Crump in Travis County came Monday in response to a lawsuit by a handful of school districts alleging that the state’s standardized tests, which underpin the TEA grades, were not properly designed and unfairly used a new automated computer system to grade essay questions.
