Lee Sharpe spent eight years at Man United and he gave his thoughts on the current ongoings at Old Trafford this week.
It was the 30th anniversary of Manchester United winning the inaugural Premier League season in 1992/1993 in May.
"I always thought Rashford would be a good No.9, but I’m questioning that after watching him for the periods that I’ve seen him there," Sharpe said. "He's at the age now when he should be producing week in and week out. So what's the reason for the player's slow start? "Without a doubt, I think it’s a lack of confidence," Sharpe added. "I think six months ago, Rashford would have just buried that, but the way this season is going I think everyone is a bit edgy.
"But you look and he wasn’t in the Chelsea team as a regular, so how has he come to Man United and been given the iconic No.7 shirt and be expected to be one of the best players here when he couldn’t get in the Chelsea team? United have conceded too many goals and although playing with a makeshift backline this season has contributed to that, Onana's performances have received scrutiny and comparisons to David de Gea have been made.
