On Martin Luther King Jr. Day in Chicago, leaders protested to pressure lawmakers to pass national voting rights legislation.
CHICAGO -- Dozens of cars took part in a caravan at Rainbow PUSH Headquarters as part of a protest on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Members of the"Chicago Coalition" gathered this morning at the corner of 51st Street and King Drive to throw their support for the new Freedom to Vote Act, which would create a national standard for voting access."I'm proud to see everybody out here today on this very chilly day," said one of the protesters.
