West Texas comes into focus for Dallas Morning News photographer Tom Fox on recent reporting assignment.
Dallas Morning News staff photographer Tom Fox traveled to West Texas recently for a story about the Greater Big Bend International Dark Sky Reserve, an ambitious effort to protect the area’s dark skies from light pollution. While on assignment, Fox captured some additional photographs that celebrate Texas’ artsy side.
If you like getting “lost” on a road trip, taking the long way there, try driving on U.S. Highway 90 south of Van Horn in far West Texas.. The faux “store,” complete with a showroom of the designer brand’s famous shoes and hand bags, was created by artist duo Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset. A rancher’s fence surrounding the selfie magnet is filled with locks inscribed with expressions of love.
