The Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita is scheduled to open in summer 2026 with 244 guest rooms and suites, along with two four-bedroom villas with ocean views.Dallas-based Omni Hotels & Resorts is investing $225 million into building its first owned and operated resort in Mexico, selecting a high-end destination on the Pacific Ocean just north of Puerto Vallarta.is scheduled to open in summer 2026 with 244 guest rooms and suites, along with two four-bedroom villas with ocean views.

In Punta Mita, the Omni resort will be designed to take advantage of its jungle and ocean surroundings, with the company wanting to evoke “a residential feel that creates comfort and familiarity.” It’ll also have three restaurant and bar concepts, casual dining options, a spa with 14 treatment rooms, two retail shops, multiple pools, a fitness center and a kids club.

“I think our resort will resonate equally strongly with the local population in Mexico as well as with the American traveler, or the international traveler from overseas,” he said. “We know that Americans vacation in Punta Mita and we’re going to capture our fair share of that market. We also want to harness the local culture, lean into what makes the destination special.
