Omagh are bidding to win back-to-back Hogan Cups for the first time in their history while Mercy Mounthawk are appearing in their first final
Defending Hogan Cup champions Omagh CBS return to Croke Park to defend their title this weekend and they’ll be up against the challenge of Mercy Mounthawk in this year’s final.
The Tyrone side are the first team from the O’Neill County to make it back-to-back Hogan Cup final appearances after last year’s runaway success over Summerhill of Sligo. The back-to-back MacRory Cup winners enjoyed a 1-14 to 0-9 victory over St Gerald’s of Castbar in the semi-final at Ballyshannon last month.Mercy Mounthawk, having only opened in 2000, are making their first Hogan Cup final appearance, but the Tralee side are to be respected after seeing off a strong Naas CBS side by five points in their semi-final meeting.
They’d be the first Kerry winners of the competition since St Brendan’s Killarney won back-to-back titles in 2017 while Omagh will become the first back-to-back champions from Ulster since St Colman’s Newry in 2011.When and where is the game?
