With 50 days until the start of the Summer Olympics in Paris, fears of terroristic attacks are rising.

The City of Lights is starting its countdown to the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. The City Council and French President Emmanuel Macron have said the biggest sporting event in the world will run smoothly, but concerns remain as France's security alert stays at its highest level since a terror attack in Moscow, Russia, in March claimed by the Islamic State.

Originally, the city expected more than 600,000 spectators to attend the event on the Seine, with athletes greeting them from boats sailing from the Eiffel Tower 4 miles down the river to the Trocadero. Due to security threats, those wishing to see the ceremony must now purchase a ticket, with less than half the original number of attendees allowed.Other concerns revolve around the safety of swimmers in the Seine. France has already spent $1.
