The computation for US Marine Lance Corporal Joseph Scott Pemberton has included the Good Conduct Time Allowance (GCTA). His actual time served is six years.
Pemberton was convicted of homicide on Dec. 1, 2015, for killing transgender Jennifer Laude in 2014. He was sentenced to suffer 6 to 10 years imprisonment.In an order dated Sept. 1 and signed by Olongapo RTC Presiding Judge Roline M. Ginez-Jabalde, Pemberton has a total accumulated time served of 10 years, one month, and 10 days. The computation has included the Good Conduct Time Allowance. His actual time served is six years.
The Court also noted that Pemberton has already made full payment of the damages awarded to the victim as it took note of a manager’s check for P4.6-million given to Laude’s relative.
