OLMSTED FALLS, Ohio - Olmsted Falls officials announced Thursday that the city has received $3,040,000 for the Columbia Road Reconstruction Project. “I want to thank the members of my administrative team for their success in securing a $3 million federal grant that supports a major infrastructure project in our city,’ Mayor James Graven said after hearing the news from U.
S. Rep. Max Miller’s office. The city said the mayor and his team have been working on developing this project and applying for funding for three years. The innovative project will widen Columbia Road from Bagley Road to Sprague Road, add new turn lanes, additional sidewalks and open space. “This major grant is a huge milestone for Olmsted Falls,” the city said. “Our residents will have better access to our scenic downtown and historic Grand Pacific Junction.”“I also want to thank Congressman Max Miller for his continued partnership with our city, as we work hard to invest in infrastructure projects that will improve safety and mobility for our community,” Mayor Graven said. “This is great news for the thousands of our residents that use Columbia Road every day and is transformative because it will help both motorists and pedestrians.
