“The way that the [SI Swimsuit] brand has evolved and has become such a positive spotlight for women to tell their stories and to spread awesome messages and just be strong, sexy and beautiful, I knew that was something I wanted to be part of,”For January’s scenic shoot in Puerto Rico, Dunne was allowed only one day off as her gymnastics season was just getting underway,“I prayed for good weather and then I shot and I came back to school,” Dunne recalled in May.
Regarded as the NCAA’s highest-earning female athlete, Dunne — who boasts a NIL valuation of over $3 million,— is hopeful to use her ever-growing platform as a way to highlight college athletics. “As a female athlete, I hope I can bring attention to how amazing college sports are and how hard college athletics are. People don’t see [behind the scenes] every day of my college athletics, and it’s very time consuming,” Dunne said.“In gymnastics, a lot of people only watch the Olympics every four years, and I feel like I’ve been able to use my platform to bring an audience to college gymnastics, and people are starting to see how amazing all these gymnasts are.
