Trump critic and former MSNBC anchor Keith Olbermann penned a column this week, advising his old network on how to navigate the second term of President-elect Trump . He suggested, in a piece for Variety, that MSNBC should lean even further into anti- Trump , progressive content rather than attempting moderation, as some other outlets have planned.
Olbermann started by demanding the network fire 'Morning Joe' co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough for meeting with Trump at Mar-a-Lago after his election victory. He labeled their action as 'kissing Trump's ring' and deemed it grounds for dismissal. He also proposed continuing their show without them, arguing that it would be less impactful. Olbermann believes that MSNBC's future success lies in 'more fervent opposition to MAGA' and that moderating their stance would alienate their audience. He cites declining viewership among outlets that have toned down their anti-Trump coverage
