McCurtain County Sherif Kevin Clardy and other officials in the small Oklahoma community are being bombarded with calls to resign over a disturbing recording leaked by a local outlet last week.
An Oklahoma sheriff and other county officials are under fire after they were recorded chatting about lynching black people and killing a local newspaper reporter.
“If it was back in the day when that, when [former county Sheriff] Alan Marshton would take a damn black guy and whoop their ass and throw him in a cell? It’d run for sheriff,” Jennings said.“I know,” Jennings said. “Take them down to Mud Creek and hang them up with a damn rope. But you can’t do that anymore. They got more rights than we got.”
