Around 7:30 a.m. Thursday, a CodeRed alert was issued for the area of West Timbervale Trail in Highlands Ranch, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

The directive from Republican State Superintendent Ryan Walters says adherence to the mandate is compulsory “immediate and strict compliance is expected."In this July 5, 2019 Bibles are displayed in Miami. “The Bible is an indispensable historical and cultural touchstone,” Walters said in a statement. “Without basic knowledge of it, Oklahoma students are unable to properly contextualize the foundation of our nation which is why Oklahoma educational standards provide for its instruction."
