Ridge Kyle Cole, visiting Houston from Oklahoma, has been missing since Friday.

Ridge Kyle Cole stepped outside to smoke a cigarette on Friday while on a trip to Houston for his 1-year-old’s liver transplant and has been missing since.

The 28-year-old from Oklahoma was in Houston for two weeks before going missing. He left his wife and child Friday night while staying at the Ronald McDonald House, a nonprofit housing service for families with children being treated in the Texas Medical Center. He went outside to smoke a cigarette, and his wife became worried when Cole didn't back, said Mark Edwards from search and rescue organization Texas EquuSearch.

Cole’s wife called her mother, who came to Houston to help. They found Cole’s personal belongings and one shoe by the bayou, Edwards said.“We believe he entered the water,” Edwards said.On Sunday, Texas EquuSearch conducted a water search in a boat traveling five miles down the bayou. As of Tuesday, Edwards said Houston police are planning to use drones to search for Cole farther along the bayou.More family members have come to Houston to help Cole’s wife.

Texas EquuSearch is asking the community, especially those along Brays Bayou, to be on the lookout for and contact the Houston Police Missing Persons Unit at 832-394-1840 or Texas EquuSearch at 281-309-9500 with any information.
