WFAA-TV reports that Rinaldi's bachelorette trip quickly spiraled into “a nightmare” when she became the victim of a random act of violence.

Canada Rinaldi , 27, traveled from Oklahoma to Texas to celebrate her bachelorette party with her bridesmaids four weeks before she was set to walk down the aisle. It “should have been one of the happiest nights of her life,” Rinaldi’s friend Kirsten McDowell wrote in a Tuesday GoFundMe post.

However, McDowell said the trip quickly spiraled into “a nightmare” when Rinaldi became the victim of a random act of violence. Rinaldi says she was assaulted by an unknown man who approached the group as they were leaving a club in East Dallas on Saturday night, WFAA-TV reported. It just feels like a lot of my experiences were taken away from me.” McDowell’s Gofundme detailed that Rinaldi was left unconscious after the assault, and that she needed treatment for a concussion, a broken nose and three broken teeth; she wound up with eight facial stitches. The attack left Rinaldi with well over $10,000 in hospital expenses. Her attacker remains at large.
