TRANSPORTATION Secretary Jaime J. Bautista named an officer-in-charge at the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to replace its chairman who was suspended on corruption allegations.
Lawyer Mercy Jane Paras-Leynes will take over from lawyer Teofilo Guadiz 3rd whom President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. suspended on Monday.The memorandum and special order Tuesday, dated Oct. 10, 2023, designated Leynes as OIC of LTFRB from Oct. 10, 2023 until Oct. 9, 2024.
Before her LTFRB appointment, Leynes served as chief transportation regulatory officer, then as board member of the LTFRB.The President also approved the appointments of the following: Jose Venturina Villacorta ; Tommy Mutia Macadindang, Abosamen Hassan Matuan, Joel Rempillo Defeo, Nonito Avila Llanos 3rd, Zona Russet Makil Tamayo, Anabel Marzan Nullar, Loumar Palapal Bernabe and Mr. Paterno Reynato Conlu Padua-- all for Regional Director 2.
