An 18-year-old male shot and killed his stepfather on Tuesday, telling investigators he had to do it because the man was threatening the teen and his family members.

WEST LIBERTY, Ohio — “I had to stop him. I had to protect my family,” the teen said in a call to 911 after the shooting, according to a news release from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office. “I couldn’t allow him to do anything to them. My family means everything to me.”there’s a chance the shooting could be justified.
