Heading into this matchup, one side features an OSU team ranked No. 1 nationally, looking to close out its non-conference schedule without any unsuspecting twist. The other side features a Bobcats team that’s already beaten one Power 4 team while putting the scare into another as they continue to turn heads early in the season. They all get the same treatment. His five previous games against the conference feature two teams that won the conference that year and ironically those are the years he’s score the most points. He gave 76 to Miami in 2019 and put 77 on Toledo’s head in 2022. The other three opponents got 59, 52 and 56.The Bobcats might be good enough to win their conference. They might even make a push to be the Group of Five team that makes the College Football Playoff. But Day doesn’t care. History says that being a good MAC team in his world just means that if you have to visit Ohio Stadium, you leave with a beatdown.The only thing stopping Ohio State from an even bigger win will be the clock. The Bobcats rely on their rushing attack, and I think the Buckeyes will look to get their running game going before Big Ten play begins.I’ll keep a close eye on how OSU defends OU quarterback Parker Navarro. His ability to escape the pocket and utilize his legs could create issues for Ohio State’s defense. That can prepare the Buckeyes for tougher opponents down the road, starting with Washington in two weeks.This Ohio State great will be the victory bell ringer before football game vs. Ohio: Buckeye BreakfastOhio State 42, Ohio 14 Ohio State has dominated its opponents in the first two weeks of the season, and I don’t think that’s going to change this week. Ohio is one of the best teams in the Group of Five, and don’t expect the Bobcats — fresh off a massive home win for the program over West Virginia — to come into Columbus and lay down for the Buckeyes. Navarro is one of the best in the G5, and he can make some things happen around the pocket that will challenge Ohio State’s defense. At the very least, Ohio State won’t be able to roll into Saturday half-asleep and expect to win 70-0 again. But, the talent gap is just far, far too great for Ohio to challenge Ohio State in any meaningful way into the second half.
