The Ohio State Highway Patrol, which is looking to recruit troopers, is loosening up when it comes to tattoos.
Patrol Superintendent Charles Jones announced Friday that the patrol would permit troopers to have tattoos on their arms but they'll have to wear long-sleeve uniforms − even in the heat of summer − to cover the ink.
The patrol's policy still prohibits tattoos above the neckline or below the wrist. Exceptions may be allowed for"a conservative wedding band/civil union tattoo, brand or body art" on the ring finger, the policy states., 30% of Americans have at least one tattoo and 41% of those aged 18-34 have tattoos.
