After Herbstreit was admitted, his father, Kirk Herbstreit, a former quarterback and captain of the Ohio State football team in the early 90s, tweeted his appreciation for all who reached out and expressed concern for Zak's well-being. Kirk's tweet also included a message from his son that added context to his hospital visit.
