Jantzen Dunn is the third Buckeye to enter the transfer portal since the end of the regular season.
December 13, 2022
Dunn played only sparingly in his two seasons as a Buckeye, appearing in just two games before suffering a season-ending injury in 2021 and appearing in four games – all on special teams only – this season. Although he spent time with both the safeties and cornerbacks this year, Dunn never saw any defensive playing time at either position as a redshirt freshman.
His path to playing time for 2023 remained unclear, as he had been surpassed on the secondary depth chart by true freshmen like safeties Kye Stokes and Sonny Styles and cornerback Jyaire Brown.
Ohio State has now lost all three of its safeties from its 2021 recruiting class as Andre Turrentine entered the transfer portal last year after just one season with the Buckeyes, while Dunn and Johnson are also both now headed elsewhere.
